The talk covered key areas highlighted in the academic research including the importance of developing a ‘Growth Mindset’, ‘Self-belief’, ‘Self-reflection’ combined with ‘Asking the right questions’ and providing ‘Meaningful feedback’.
Based on the talk presented to the Barker community in Term One called ’10 Tips for Developing Student Motivation and Success’, Dr Brad Merrick unpacked the five key areas that parents should be looking to develop with their child in the Primary School. The complete article co-authored with Dr Greg Cunningham, the Director of Teaching and Learning is available on pages 12-13 of the Autumn edition of The Barker for those interested.
